I completely understand what you needed from your posting and you're get the needed information here.

I've ran into him a couple of times. And it was always a positive greeting. When you said Ontario it was like an instant Sergy (Sergei) would do this for you. So yeah, sarcastic.

Well regardless if he is making money doing it or breaking even why should that matter to you or anyone? If he is doing his job correctly and enjoying what he is doing isn't that what matters? I mean even if he is losing money then only one that is affected is him. I don't think his personal money issues/non-issue doesn't make him a bad person. Besides he doesn't own a house or much of anything really So he probably doesn't require as much money as someone who has a mortgage, other cars, truck payments if you own one etc...
He is living life the way he is happy In this world it's a nice thing to see someone happy with what they are doing rather then just going to work to make money Not saying I'd wanna do what he is but that's cause I doing what makes me happy.

By the way Thanks for the picture. Looks like what we are after.

Sure I did, but why look at everything so negatively. We live in a world where people are too judgemental.

You say what else has he gotten away with. I say. He didn't have to post his mistake on his video he could have edited it out or not even discuss it period. He admitted to his mistake and learned from it. If he had no problem admitting to his mistake (and others he has admitted to) who would he hide anything else? If he didn't post his permit boo boo, no one would have even know he made his mistake and it would have looked like a perfect human being which is seems to are no?
We are not robots, we are humans and humans make mistakes. The important thing is a) your mistakes are a lesson you learn for the future and b) no one is killed because he messed up on his permit. Permits are rules yes, but they are also a money grab. So you permit for 140,000lbs but you are 150,000 that doesn't mean your combination is unsafe it means you didn't pay the government more money for more weight. The truck is capable of the weight, the trailer is capable of the weight and so are the roads they are going on. So not unsafe

No arguing with you, but that I feel. If I can admit to a mistake so 50,000+ viewers. Why would I lie about others? That doesn't even make sense when I could have avoided saying anything in the first place.

I can see how those can both me useful. Although the places we go don't have potholes really. We go into paved areas not construction zones. So dropping in a hole without a chain, would it be like most trailers when one axle or tire set drops into a pot hole.

Dumping air from the front air bag is a good idea as well and I even thought about it. But more of a dump valve to dump the air bags in the front rather then an actual lift axle

I was checking out some pictures on the JJ site they do show trailers with the bucket trough covered up with wood floors. I'm not concerned about moving excavators as we don't own any big ones and the ones we do own don't move often at all and I don't think it would been the bucket trough. I think we would make more use of a back deck then a bucket trough Although it would be nice if we can remove the wood if we ever did plan on moving the excavators.

You kinda missed the point, he booked a load, ordered permits and traveled with that load basing his assumptions on a machine he had hauled before from a different manufacturer. My question about how many times he’s done it before wasn’t in reference to getting caught, it was in reference to hauling something based on erroneous information and gotten away with it. Look at it this way, a specific machine needed moved, it required a certain size truck to move it and a rate commiserate with that load. He assumed it was lighter and hauled it with a lighter permit. I have no idea if he bid it cheaper than he should have but it is very common to bid lighter loads at a lower cost. I’ve watched enough of his videos to know, he’s an idiot.

Don't worry about, I just don't understand why people hate on the guy and they only see short videos of him driving and whatnot. You can't base who he is all the time based on that. Too much hate in this world. Everyone makes negative assumptions on people but can't seem to grasp that you can also make positive assumptions like, while the video isn't shooting maybe he gets to a bridge he can't cross and he called the police to get him back on route. We don't know from videos every single hour of his day only 30 to 1hr every so often out of a 40+ he week. Sort of like celebrities, everyone in the public THINKS they know these people based on new articles and hearsay but you don't REALLY know who they are.

Anyhow I'm done talking about Sergei Dratchev this isn't what the tread is about. I'm asking legit questions to help guide me in the correct direction for a general idea of what I need to be looking for when we approach the sales team which our needs and what we want or should add on.

So please let's keep this back on topic and just give me advice on the spec I would want to order a trailer. I want to give my boss ideas so we don't walk into this trailer blind. We know how to spec the types of trailers we are used too (walking floor 5 axle trailers). We know how to spec out trucks. What we need to know is about an RGN so that we can move our own equipment from time to time. This isn't suppose to be a cost savings measure only, this is also to help us move machines when we need them and not wait for a company to move them. We have compliance approvals we need to keep up and part of that is having machines to load what we need to load within the time frame we need to load the material out

See, this is the problem. If he is losing money then he is hauling for less than he should, and taking the work away from someone who is charging appropriately. So the only one affected is not him but the whole industry.

So I didn't mean by taking low rates. I meant losing money as in constantly changing trucks or trailers. The interest he pays on all this stuff over and over again. Borrowing money to upgrade his trailer so soon or getting his drop side rail and then refinancing another one. Buying a flip box and 6 months down the road getting a new flip box because he is upgrading to a jeep.
It takes him time to find someone who will finance him, remember he has no house so it would be harder to get a loan. So who knows the interest he is paying.

I'm not against him, nor do I know his financial situation. The point is if he loses money that above why it's his business.

As for rates, he says he doesn't take cheap rates. Sure he might take a "cheaper" rate to get home. But he isn't the only person nor will he be the last. Unless you see all of his load quotes, your just making assumptions.

Doesn’t really matter what you order for a trailer don’t you kinda have to go with the lowest bid....? As a government agency......

That's fair. I have no idea what he hauls for, but there are pieces of his puzzle that don't fit well together, at least from where I am looking. Also, I do not keep up with his videos so I am probably missing a lot.
