    Great thread!!!
I've only been driving for about 6 months. All of it pulling a Skate Board. And I love it... Great variety of different loads...

When it comes to tying down a load I always use too many straps and/or chains...It's not worth it to throw the bare minimum just to save time...And I don't care what people think when I have 20 straps on a 48' load...

I've got 60' wood beams on a 48' trailer right now. (leaving tomorrow)
I've got gut wraps at 2 high and 4 high and of course over the peak beam on the top...My company requires at least 7 straps over the top and I have 10... 18 all together...:yes2557:
I don't mind having the overhang on the back...It's the head swing on the front that bothers me the most...:biggrin_2551: I've had beams swing out over cars that wouldn't give me the room I need to make turns...You can hear their antennas slap the beams... And the looks on some faces when they see those beams heading their way...:biggrin_2554:
Then there's those signs that are too close to the corner.........Stuff happens!!!

I almost always leave Oregon with beams going to Ca. or Az. The load I have now is going to Henderson Co.
Maybe I'll see ya out there...

    KEEP IT SAFE!!!:biggrin_25525:

Good attitude. When people said things to me about over-securement I always responded back saying something like... Well at least you know that this load isn't going to fall off my trailer at the same time your wife & kids are passing me.

    cpassey Thanks this.

In the event of a roll over..God forbid - Knock on wood!
That load is staying on that trailer...

Most of the flak I get for over securement is from other drivers...People that have WAAAAY more experience than me... Or is it stupidity...:yes2557:
