Dirty trucks make just as much money as clean trucks. Those pics are of some old USA trucks. The entire fleet is International 9400's, Prostars, KW t660's, and there are some brand new Peterbilt 386's and 387's that should hit the road soon. Parts changer, errr mechanic said that they are getting some new Freightliners as well, think Columbia's. As far as them or weiner pick your poison. USA is alright to get your feet wet as long as you don't breakdown and stay out of the NE. Good luck.

OH YEAH! The only time I have seen a dirty truck overlooked was when my hubby was running from Calipatria to Gilroy, and that's because those trucks were running straight from the fields!

That is exactly true. Sure a dirty truck makes the money just like a clean truck... But the DOT officer see's a dirty truck & wonders if he doesn't take the time or money to wash his truck... then what else isn't he taking to time or money to do with that truck...

Ahhh very true. Surely they know USA is one of the dirty truck carriers since well...all their trucks are dirty. I've passed 3 dot's, 2 lvl 1's and a lvl 3. I make sure to keep the cvsa sticker clean when I hit the windshield :biggrin_25525:.

I live just across the river from you, if you can pay for your own schooling, I'd recommend Crete. Out of Werner and USA, I'd take USA.

If you divide 500,000 miles by 18 months you come out with 27,778 miles per month. Divide that by 4 weeks per month you come up with about 6944 miles per week. If their trucks are averaging those miles every week nobody would leave. You may have done your research but I did the math.

I did werner and still with them. I would suggest that you pay your own way if possible for the school and look into other companies as well. If you have no other choices than these two I would go with who works best in your area. I went with werner after much research and finding them to be the best fit for where I live and what I want.

If you go with werner the pay back for the loan is only for the principle and takes about 5 years to pay back. You are responsible for the interest and if you use their financing it will be high. If you can finance on your own you will be better off. I paid up front and they pay me $125 a month once a month to cover my cost. About another 18 months left to pay me back. I hope to be gone before it is paid back, but right now they still work for me.

I would suggest as others have to look into all options possible for companies before you decide. If you have no other options then try to make the best choice of the two for what works for you. If possible talk to drivers for both companies in your area and see what they can tell you.

I work a dedicated account for werner and that is probably the only reason I am still there. Based on the information I get from regional or 48 state drivers I have spoke with, I do not think I could do either with werner. If the time comes that those are my options for making a living I think it will be time to change companies.

I do have other options and do look for other jobs, but for now nobody can come close to the money I make now (believe it or not), and still get me home often.

No matter who you choose to go with keep an open mind be prepared for some crap, and best of luck.

I thought you get reimbursed 15 bucks for washes, but dont quote me on it k. I think I read it somewhere. But it might of been for Pam cuz I was originally going to work for them. But then My recrutor call and said that USA Truck wanted people from the NY area. So of course I accepted. Still leaving for fort wayne on sunday.
