I won’t use an electric jack. I have too much fear of being put in a situation where I’m stuck with the rough equivalent of a boat anchor to deal with all day. A manual jack with a block of wood has served me well for years so far.
I believe the reason for having the drivers buy them is to mitigate potential disagreements over who gets to use what equipment by the drivers all having there own and locking them up at night.
R&L Carriers; Any info.?

R&L starting pay here in China Grove starts at around $21.00 an hour and maxes out at around $27.00 an hour after about three years. No OT pay. Also, what is a combo? Is that both city and linehaul?Last edited: Oct 17, 2019

So they pay the same or less as most LTL carriers, but no OT pay and you have to buy your own pallet jack...they caught my attention with the vacation resorts, but they won’t be on my list any longer lol

The air condition and heated seat is pretty nice!
They are lower on the pay scale though than everyone else. Leaving big E it was a cut.Texas_hwy_287 Thanks this. -
