If you are experienced it can be done without pulling the pan.
It makes the job alot eaiser and done properly by pulling the pan however.

    earnies2 Thanks this.

I agree with all that, just did mine. Only thing I wish I’d also done, is starter also. While I had it out. And new transmission cooler lines. Still have to do them.$4500-$6000 Easy. Maybe a little more. Maybe u joints and carrier if needed, while it’s out.Its a lot of work. Worth the labor cost.

I agree could be more and yes a great time for a starter too. Hard to estimate. I have done a 1000 probably clutch jobs. Never seen one with a identical bill. Great time for input shaft and front bearing to. Normally I have refused to slam a clutch in only. I try to explain that the labor is the most expensive, so change everything you can. I want that trans to stay in the truck till next clutch job.

Depends on what it looks like. I have seen 3 year old 200K clutches that are over half worn out.

We just got done with an ISX12 rear with a cracked housing. Clutch looked like new, so it was reused even though we estimated replacement. If it's a solo make sure you cage it if there is a chance you might reuse.

That's not the rear main mine is doing the samething on the passenger side. If its not leaking alot I would try to wait until its clutch time and do it then
