Kind of hard for a waitress to take a order since the driver has his face planted in his phone and those silly headsets blaring in his head.

We need less fast food. Less fried chicken. How about a healthy option for once? I mean come on..

I think they care more about the traveling public than us truck drivers. Traveling public just want fast food because its a one time thing they dont deal with it everyday like us, im like u, i wanna sit down at the end of my day and unwind to a good hot meal

    I don't know about that.

I was in a Petro with an Arby's just yesterday and seen the little plaque on the wall saying "Operated by TA/Petro".

In other words TA purchased a franchise agreement, no different than what you would have to do if you wanted to own a McDonald's.

I've seen quite a few of those "operated by" plaques as I'm staring off into space waiting on my food.

could be they own the franchise, i never saw that plaque myself. but if so, then they have to adhere to corporate franchising rules, regarding hiring practices, hourly wages, promotions, etc.etc.

and also, if so, this still cuts down on the various foods they have to keep in the freezers.

it's all one small menu, not a variety of menu items, like the typical truck stop restaurant would have.

Yeah we need more fast food restaurants so that every tour bus, RV,and the motoring public come in the truck stops and take all day to order, and whine and complain about prices being higher than out in town.

You would think as bad as these people can t stand truck drivers they would steer clear of any place a truck driver dwells

I liked the Golden Corral at the Flying J in Elkton, MD. It was clean and the food was good.

Ate there myself, much better buffet selection and yes it was very clean and never waited to have my glass of water refilled.
