Reading 34,500 on the tandems with them all the way forward.
Moved the tandems back 2 holes..12 inches.
Am I legal in a utility reefer trailer?
No 40 ft markings on the trailer and I don't have a tape measure.
Would you rather run 500 pounds overweight with tandem forward or run weight correct and possibly be 12 inches too long?
Thanks.
California..overweight vs over length

You will be stopped at a California to correct this. CHP is big on the 40 ft mark. CHP will have a tape measure on hand.
If you are still overweight and are unable to correct the weight, you will sit parked until that load is reworked. Two or three hundred pounds over they might forgive, but more than that earns you an overweight fine.LoSt_AgAiN, Upinsmoke and okiedokie Thank this. -
I don't guess there is any right answer, but personally I would go with the over length. At least they will have to be paying a little more attention to notice it.

I counted the holes from back of trailer= 31.
1st hole to third hole is 12 inches or one foot.
I should be ok in the third hole if my math is right.
Someone scratched a mark into the trailer which makes me think I'm ok.
Maybe the banning scales will be closed?
