The 198 is $20 cheaper than the two I originally referenced. Does that sound right?

Road king, astatic, same thing. Road king had a big weight inside. Gave it a nice quality feel. Don’t know if they’re still that way. I always bought astatics, but for the same money, I’d get the high class woodgrain Roadking, especially if I had one of those high class Peterbilt’s. Astatics are more for us Freightliner Owners. Priced accordingly. Cheap Cobra w/ a modulation swing kit, “poor mans Big Radio”. Either of the two will sound good. Can’t forget a good speaker. Chrome Wilson, only way to go in a Hot Rod Pete. One good Francis $20 Antenna, is all you need, but in your case, a couple cool looking chrome ones, pointed forward, Bull hauler style, is appropriate. For the Hot Rod Pete. That’s going to cost some $$$. But you can’t put a price on Cool. Lol

The big chrome speaker is the wrong ohm rateing...Dont make a big diff but does affect tone and out put..

I had no idea, and really know very little about radios, just thought it would look cool in his Hot Rod Pete. Trying to stay with the whole theme. Big Loud and Flashy. Lol. Seriously though, what’s a good affordable speaker?

Theres a few i cant remeber the name.of..One of them was an older speaker used in cop cars..I kinda like the cobra 500,bearcat 20 is pretty close to the cobra..Its kind of a personal choice in sound..
I was at wallcott cb shop and listened to the board they have thats full of them..They were not powered speakers but yer basics like i mentioned...The cpl i mentioned tickled my fancy the most..
I would love.to have a small amp with a simulated stereo ext speaker set up but im not willing to be that crazy..
