Anyone have any recent experience with this company and specifically this location?
From what I’ve been told this is the worst time of year for oilfield as the 4th quarter is the slowest.
Chalk Mountain is one of the very few that pay hourly or at least one of the few that advertise hourly instead of percentage. They offered a good friend of mine $27 an hour to haul sand, instead of $25 because he has his own housing (travel trailer)
If any of the above were true, then why wouldn’t everyone be at Chalk Mountain since everything I’ve read is it’s slow out there and other companies are laying people off.
He was approved and he’s ready to quit his local gig making $1150 a week and home every night and will be relocating from Alabama to West Texas. I’d hate to see him give up what he has in hopes of making the $2000 a week that Chalk Mountain claims.
My gut says Chalk Mountain has serious retention issues or is full of crap, any help would be appreciated

One of my best friends drives for them out of the Kermit yard. He's making good money, but he has a much higher tolerance for BS than most people.
One thing to keep in mind about frac sand is that it is boom or bust. That, and the cost of living in the Midland area is absolutely outrageous - if you can even find a place to live.
If I were going to haul sand, Chalk is who I would work for. Their contract with a major energy producer is what keeps them moving when others have slowed down. -
