Lmao, The state here actually waters the roads, so we will have ice to drive on, it is much better than potholes. lol
We are already on ice, but not good ice yet, and will be till march.

Why do they water the roads? To make it bigger?

    FerrissWheel Thanks this.

No it does not get any bigger, but we can drive a lot faster without the potholes.

    FerrissWheel Thanks this.

Yea, but it aint no fun when a pothole takes the steer axle out from under the truck, and you miss too much work. lol
We can make the trip at least a couple of hours quicker in the winter than summer, after the ice gets smooth.
A couple of years ago, while I was going north, the state had the water trucks iceing the road on the north side of atigun and it was way too warm at 25 degrees above. Sure enough I had to slow down for while meeting a truck in that area, and while the road is rising, it is a slow rise and so slick I never could build speed back up. I had to chain on basically flat ground, felt like a total rookie. lol

That looked like a fun ride!

Nothing like pickin' the slickest part of the road to drive on and then hitting the brakes when you see someone in rhubarb. Reminds of this one, the conditions seem similar.

Bud A. and FerrissWheel Thank this.
