Is there companies that use city tractors and 28ft pup trailers for city deliveries? Im asking about a set-up using 1 trailer not doubles or triples...

FedEx Freight, but they also use trailers as long as 53’ and you’d still be required to be able to pull those as well as have a doubles endorsement.

Estes uses a 33 foot liftgate trailer.

All the LTL’s have shorter liftgate trailers, as well as Sysco for starters.

We use mostly 35' lift gates but we have several 28's

why do you ask?

Because I'm in the process of getting a job and when i get my cdl, I'd like to do ltl or home deliveries and I've been around tractor trailers long enough to know a 53' or 2 dual 28's is an issue to pull in and out of a residential area so either a 26ft or a city tractor pulling a 28ft trailer would make the job alot more easier...
