I'd just like to see all the folks in 4 wheelers and trucks that aren't afraid to drive in winter conditions, that have a death grip on the wheel, turn on their lights.

But, alas, they can see just fine.

I asked a LEO friend why they don't enforce that law. He said it's impossible to write the ticket when they can just flip a switch before you get them to pull over. Not only that, if they fight it in court the judges just toss them. A lot of paperwork for an almost unenforceable he/said-she/said.

In the past when everybody had cb radios alot of the pile ups with trucks involved were avoided because you knew about the pileup miles inadvance. Now you don't hear anything until your up to the pileup.

This is true but if they were keeping enough distance, driving for conditions and especially paying attention they would be able to stop in time,

Yup, doesn't matter. I asked him about it. He says that if they ran around doing it the district attorney wouldn't support it. They'd only get the people who paid the ticket without contest.

Any sort of resistance, contesting, or excuse would make the whole thing not worth it.

Granted, he works in a tiny southern town where 85% of the cases are pleaded out. Including violent crime and domestic violence. He says it's the same 2% of the people and their relatives going through the criminal justice system like a revolving door. He knows people who are 4th generation drug addicts, all born before their mothers were out of school. Great granny isn't eligible for Social Security yet.
