Leave it alone; move on to hauling dirt. In a few months if you tire of dump trucks, you can hit the road again.

Btw, if you do end up leaving the truck, be sure to take photos of Interior and exterior to document condition. Given that it was a rescue, I hope you didn't just walk into another whole ball of fun.

The only reason I ask is because the boss doesn't believe that the truck is not insured even though I've talked to the company's insurance agent personally, and the cop hold me and I quote "I am certain there is an insurance violation on this vehicle however if I issue you a violation for that I will be required to give you a ticket and I will be required to arrest you and I do not want to do that to you"

The boss is throwing a fit because they didn't list a violation for no insurance but I have the physical Insurance paperwork in the truck and this vehicle I'm in is not on the list of scheduled autos. It is not an Any Auto or All Owned Autos policy.

I took video walk around of the entire exterior and interior of the vehicle and sent it to the boss on day one. He told me thanks that looks good.

I will be sure to take another video in the same fashion.

The truck was in good condition.

Walk away and let the truck owner deal with it.
When you're in a hole; quit digging.

I have a Greyhound ticket back home.

Before I posted this I was fairly certain I was going to walk away I just wanted information from this group of professionals as to what I should do to cover my own rear end.

I think the farther east you go, the penalties you get as a driver will be a lot more expensive for you.
HUT sticker is not required to run in NY State. If you don't have a sticker you need a trip permit.

Do like the others suggest. Call the owner give him a day to make the truck legal. If they can't.
Inform the truckstop you are leaving and the truck is staying there.

The first red flag. No proper dot physical required and you should have noticed the expired plates

    Good luck

Don't get me wrong I have all of my proper paperwork physical excetera I just know this company does not have a driver qualification file for me. I told the guy that tags were expired from day one however he told me that South Carolina plates have tags that are valid for a year and that they put the month and year issued on them, which is a load of ####.

That is the issue I told the guy he needed to make the truck legal because it didn't have ifta stickers at all and some random Russian came and slap stickers on my truck that come to find out aren't even theirs. I have already sat for over 24 hours on the westside of Chicago for him to fix all the paperwork and everything he gave me blew up on the east side of Chicago.

I refuse to go to New York with anything less than perfect paperwork I've heard a lot of stories about them not being the state to mess with in addition to California
