    I think Prime and the Wilson Logistics companies (Jim Palmer, Wil-Trans, O & E) require 6 months of solo driving before pets or rider are allowed.

    The truth is, asking us online isn't a good source. You should check trucking company web sites and then make phone call/email inquiries to companies to get an answer.

    Do you mean trucking company cdl school training or private cdl school training?

    Britton Transport and Southern Refrigerated Transport advertise "day one rider program."
    These two companies hire new cdl school graduates.
    Britton Transport would be my first choice of those two.
    @MrEd works for Britton Transport.

    You will have to wait a while. You will put in a minimum time solo without accidents, damage etc. Then you can apply for permission after say 6 months to take spouse with you in the truck. Remember your spouse will sign a paper saying that death, loss of limbs and injury is all on her. The trucking company has nothing to do with the risk.

    Remember never to have anyone inside that tractor. You WILL at some point be asked have you ever had someone in that truck and your wife will be asked the same question have YOU (She) been in that truck EVER. if she says yes, you have lost your job right there and then. Wait until the company policy required time has passed until you gain permission to take passengers. But never take a passenger without going through your company first.

    If you are considering having a rider from day one, I would advise against it.
    Another person in the truck would only be a distraction when you are a new driver.
