I think your observation is essentially correct.

I believe Daimler did a better job of integrating the engine and 12speed trans. Unfortunately Eaton could not get good engineering data from the engine Manufacturers until recently. They just kinda had to wing it. A couple of years ago Paccar and Cummins actually started working with Eaton to build integrated power units. And that improved the shifting a bunch.

Heck a couple of years back Eaton finally released a Trans with nearly equal gear spacing. Other thing they brought out was a 15 speed basically a 10 with a spliter like a 13.

I think the Freightliner may be better designed, Unfortunately they are being designed by a car company and some component quality is lacking to get to a million miles. My opinion is the current Daimlier products are marginal for durability of the other electronics to justify rebuilding the engine if you wear one out.

Paccar product I believe will hold up better in the long run. I might be able to justify rebuilding a Paccar product engine twice, A little concerned with the robustness of the latest electronics from KW group.

    You think that...? :biggrin_1square1:

Well... the government in America knows a lot about their citizens... they have access to medical records, financial records, social media records and they can find out a lot more if they want... you know that, right?

Just want to mention that I had once a vip from a former company coming after me for things I wrote on TTR.... who knows who is reading these threads.... there's no privacy in social media.. I don't post on Facebook... maybe I am "old fashion"... and yes... I do need more real social contact... better take a break here and go out now...
