They still don't have electric cars quite figured out enough for North America yet. Some of us live in pretty remote areas. They'd be fine if you lived in the city. Plus I'm curious how much driving range is lost while running the heater when its -35 outside.

KVB, Bean Jr., Oxbow and 2 others Thank this.

    Range is to short.
    Price is too high.
But 2020 the new VW platform will be starting to roll out.
I quite like the successor to the Transporter
    Old style look but modern.

As Norway has some cold temperatures and long distances it shows it is possible.
(Norway sells more electric cars then petrol/gas/diesel )

    AModelCat and Oxbow Thank this.

el. smart 4seat have about 110km in city with heating in average.
i was close to getting one recently, half year old, on 2year lease without any expenses related for leasing (open and close), 270€/month, no down payment. registration and all insurance 360€ per year. one service per year (130€), brakes and tires should last 2years, it is under warranty so no any possible surprises.
i have 11kW of power supply at home. some 2.5years ago i was considering getting w246

KVB, Oxbow and daf105paccar Thank this.
