This article claims Prime has over 6000 owner Operators... The DOT website shows them to have a little over 7000 trucks...

So they only have roughly a 1000 or so company trucks at Prime?

Doesn't sound right to me. I'm not sure how that works out as most O/O's and more L/O's will be running with Prime plates + company drivers. Seems quite a low number.

Prime isn't huge company but big enough. Maybe they lost 3/4 of their "drivers" in the past 5 years? Something isn't right in the statistics or Prime has a way around letting "the man" know.

It takes one night and about $300 to be a South Dakota resident with a SD drivers license in hand. It’s not hard.

Schneider and Landstar are both making changes to those who are based out of CA.

My understanding is Landstar and Schneider are not taking on new IC’s in the state. And existing ones are encouraged to find other domiciles for now.

Article doesn't tell the whole story. I was just approved to lease onto landstar. First hand experience. They told me I could haul loads into California but I'd have to deadhead out of California. I also applied for mercer. They approved me. Then ab 5 came about they told me I couldnt lease on, then called me a week later and told me no more then 15% of my total miles could be in California.

So long story short ab5 is gonna fail. Theure getting sued left and right and they're trying to revise it

I decided to do my own thing My authority went active 2 weeks ago
