Have you looked and researched the current market conditions for the trucking industry?

And why is that relevant to you starting a trucking business?

Freight volume remains good, yet rates have taken a big slide.

You’re welcome to your fair share of the losses......

    henboy1 and 86scotty Thank this.

I'd be doing lots of research on that before I ran out and bought a truck... Why is it you think the industry will grow?

2 to 3 yr old T680 with 225 to 300k miles with a Cummins X15 if possible would be a great first truck and cost in the 75k range.

The industry will grow. Sure. Probably because population keeps growing.

As for freight itself. Tarriffs are hurting everyone.

That's a very difficult question. It depends on different factors.

You can find a 30 year old truck in better shape than a 10 year old truck, if the person that had it really kept up with it. If the newer truck was just running run and run without getting the attention it needed that could be a rolling hunk of junk ready to empty your pockets.

Are you leasing on some where, or are you getting your own authority? If you are leasing on that will usually require a newer truck.

Are you doing your own work? Older trucks tend to be easier to work on.

Are you in the communist state of California? That changes everything.

    More information is needed.
