Can a truck dealership remotely disable my truck?

    not sure if that’s true if it is, does it apply to CMV’s?

    not sure but it can be a simple harness issue or ECM issue but won’t know until I guess stealership looks into it.

    Only a handful of states outlawed them. They are called a starter interruptor. Some are still in use.

    New York is the latest, with a law that took effect in October requiring lenders to disclose in writing by certified mail when they install the devices on vehicles.

    The car has to be off . it won't disable while running.

    Seriously people.

    The guy has a CAN datalink issue or an ECM power/ground problem. There's no magical boogeyman out there shutting down his truck.

    Ya, truck won't fire up with out the data link being active.
    I think there is a five amp fuse that powers the data link. Worth looking into.
