I sure wouldn't want to try it, but I wouldn't want to try it with a short single screw either.

Long wheelbase rides nicer and can bridge more weight. Fit more sleeper, mor tag axles, bigger headache cabinets, more toolboxes and front overhang.

Other than those reasons it is a look. cosmetic and boastful imo. Its harder to drive a long truck so a stretched out street queen in a tight city basically says look at me. I can do what other drivers cant. Sorta like a jarhead who doesnt just go for a run. He goes for a run with a backpack full of sand right past the mall.

Im not knocking the guy who just likes to look at his long rig .. Thats their business. Just sayin if its not for purpose its for preference. One guy wants a volvo other wants a 359 chromeshack. Its their business.

A corvette, a sweatervest and fake boobs all serve a purpose to their owners. Whether you agree with them or not may vary. If theyre happy be happy for em.

Fake boobs would be more fun to play with than an obnoxious truck that is impossible to maneuver.

    And most likely less expensive...

    Just sayin'...

It ain't that bad. Im not as long as the kw in the first post but 290 and have only ever come across 1 dock that gave me real trouble and that was an old steel mill curved dock that used to be for train cars on a blind side curve. I've taken this truck into nyc, Boston, Chicago, with no problems. Sure I gotta pay a bit more attention when making tight turns but if I wanted it to be easy I'd drive a 220 inch wheel base set back axle truck pulling a trailer with a sliding tandem.

Hell yeah, brother. Im def not knocking the trucks. I think they look cool as hell rollin down the road. I just think everytime I see one what kind of crazy situations you can get into trying to make a turn. For instance, right near my yard theres this bridge tunnel on a truck route with a real tight 90 degree turn that you have to drive through. I just couldn't see a long wheel based truck getting through that pulling a full-size trailer. But maybe that's bc Im still somewhat new to this game. Im sure you pros would see a curve like that and wouldn't even think twice about it lol.

    FerrissWheel Thanks this.
