I received a reckless (86/70) and driving with device in view in VA. I sent a lawyer and the judge fined me $1000 and license suspension for 90 days. The lawyer appealed it and now I'm off to circuit court.
This is my first year driving, I was on a downgrade, and I have no other citations in the last 3 years. I'm not trying to get out of paying anything, but if they suspend my license I'll lose my job and no one else will hire me. What can I do? Has anyone else had a reckless in VA and what was the outcome?

Once this is resolved, Carolina Cargo might hire you. Plenty others on Craigslist will also hire you.

That was harsh as hell. It was 430 am. There were no cars in front or on either side of me. I was cruising at 68. I had turned the j brake off because I thought I was in an area where i wouldn't need it as much. This downgrade wasn't distinct. It didn't look like a downgrade. By the time i realized i was speeding up like that i made the dumb ### rookie decision to let the truck roll because there was a steep incline right behind it. I knew the incline would stop the speed immediately. I haven't done it since nor will I ever do it again. I didn't think the truck would speed up that fast that quick. I figured I would reach the incline before I reached 80.
I'm in my first year. It was a bad decision...and you really think I deserve to never drive again. Guess you never made one mistake while driving. Good for you. #######.

What is your governer to go 68 to 86 on a downhill it has to be a long one wind resistance should've not let you go much over 80. You are a 1st year super trucker hope you stay driving boss. Also I've gone over 80 by accident I barely had to tap brake to get back to speed limit. (75 limit)

I'm not at all a super trucker. Not at all. That was an accident. When I realized the truck was getting faster I made the dumb decision to let it roll. The distance between the downgrade and incline was less than a quarter mile. The distance between the downgrade and the incline total wasn't a quarter mile. I didn't take the weight of my load into consideration and I underestimated the steepness of the downgrade. The truck got up to 86 and under 45 in less than 15 seconds. When I reached the bottom of the grade and into the incline the police was pulling out behind me.
I'm not out here intentionally risking my life or the lives of others. It was a bad decision. A really dumb, uninformed, bad decision. I'll never do that again.
Are you people even truck drivers....####
