well yeah, what he said may be harsh to you, but it's the reality.
first, you had "some sort" of training for your CDL, either on your own with a student loan or cash, or at the trucking company.
so tell me how you would ever think that a massive weighted vehicle, would not pick up speed fast, going down a hill?
time of day don;t matter, the police are out there 24/7/365. and fact of the matter is, you let your truck get away from you.
you claim you were listening to music, from the device on your dashboard. you STILL HAVE TO PAY ATTENTION to your driving, no matter what.
in the end, you let your truck get away from you, and speed out of control.
as a result, you got nabbed.
i am not sure if you can get this ticket reduced, the cop may have you on video, with a speed indicator.
if they suspend your CDL, you very well may have to go back to school to get it back
it was 4:30 AM as you said, and there could have been a broke down car on the shoulder, or driving ahead of you with no tail lights, and you would have rammed that car.
frankly it's basic trucking 101..
trucks loaded or empty gain speed going down hills.
you failed to control that rig.
i'd like to see your CDL suspended as well..the devastation would have been massive, all because you disengaged the jake brake, and ALLOWED your truck to pick up speed, listening to your "tunes"..
good luck, but this is not going to turn out good for you.

Honest talk, okay?
That cop sitting in the median was probably watching to see if you kicked on the brakes (4am in the morning, he would be able to see them even if you were coming at him). My instincts tell me that because he didn’t see them, he cut you no slack.
What do you think, @shogun ?
