Thanks for all the responses everyone. I just dont know what to do. I was thinkin about busting my bank account for two years and get into some allied health field. I know nationalize health care is coming soon. It'll give the gov and ceos a big excuse to rape health care pay. Kinda like free trade did to the manufacturing sector. There wont be a industry in American where wokers make living wages.:biggrin_2552:

And it will be that way with the trucking industry when they open that southern border & unleash thousands of Mexican trucks to come up here & haul our freight.

I don't mean to burst anyone's bubbles but things wont change till 2011 at the earliest. More like 2013 to 2015 by all accounts from the eggheads who know this stuff.

Hang in there for the long haul!

unless you work for a 'mom and pop' outfit, or a much much smaller company (who will soon be faced to shut their doors because of the level of cut-throat competition), but if anybody goes into a truck stop and asks every driver how trucking is doing, most every one of them will tell you it sucks. Local gigs might be different, but in the OTR world, it does suck. When drivers were getting 3000 mi a week, are now finding its a struggle to get half that........i dont care who you are...that sucks.

I think it is SLOWLY getting better if you compare from the beginning of the year to now.

If OTR sucks, which it does, how can one explain the turnover rate and why is it so high? What I mean is, why would drivers continue to apply to a company that has been shown to be a bad company time and time again? This site is full of them! Maybe it will eventually get better but I really don't see how it will ever do that.
