How bout this scenario? I had driven like 4 hours and gone to bed, my co-driver abandoned the truck and load and me at a truckstop, I was 20 minutes from home, had to wait forever for another team to take my load (and wasnt allowed to leave the load or they'd charge me with abandonment too), and then had to drive out of state to get rid of my empty trailer because my driveway had a narrow entrance? (i could barely get the tractor into the driveway, but the driveway itself wouldve fit a tractortrailer..heh.).....anyway, by the time the load was relayed i was out of my 14 hour clock. I looseleaf. Guess what i did?
I threw my codrivers entire logbook away, ripped my page out and made it look like he drove all day and then I had enough hours...
the best part was i got a logbook violation on that day. I had driven 30 minutes past midnight and logged that bit legally. I had "driven" 75 miles. I accidently wrote that as the total on the next day, where i had driven for a total of 30 minutes. Safety was asking me how i managed to average 150 mph that day.

The other day, I was in Florida. I couldn't deliver to the port, because I had used my license 5 times, and did not yet have a JAXPORT credential. My boss drove 1 truck to the truck stop, and I drove the other. We woke up around 9 am(after arriving at the ts at 3 am.) I waited for him to unload his truck, then I drove my truck to meet him outside the port so he could drive it into the port and unload.
After that, I drove to the Access Control Center to fill out the paperwork for the JAXPORT badge. I was done around 1 pm. Then I was off until 7 pm, according to my boss. I was still driving around town here and there, but not doing any "work". I had to start loading around 8 pm and did not finish until after 10 pm. Then I drove 1.5 hours to a hotel. I stayed for a full 10 hours.
The customer in Atlanta called me around noon, and I told him that I had just finished unloading in south Georgia, and that I would be to his location aroun 6 pm. He was pissy and said that my boss told him that I would be delivering around noon. I told him very politely, that I am not sure if my boss told you this or not, but that we were required to take a 10 hour break every day, and that we had to get some sleep. I told him that he should talk to me about delivery times, not my boss, as I am the one driving the truck.
After all of this, my boss got on to me, AND DEMANDED TO KNOW WHY I FELT THAT I NEEDED TO TAKE A 10 HOUR BREAK!!!!!! According to this little ######, the customer is always right. According to me, anyone that would try to get someone to work 24 hours straight is a peice of garbage. After all, according to him, I had only worked 5 hours, the driving of the truck for 10 minutes, and the trip to the port authority did not count. My 14 hour clock, according to him, started at 7 pm.
Oh, and I asked about the hotel. He said we did not discuss it first, and that he would talk to his wife about it, but he doubts they will be willing to pay me "as much as they do", and still provide a hotel. I ran his truck out of fuel, trying to get to the cheap fuel location that he wanted. The gauge said it had 1/8 of a tank. That cost me $80 for labor to get someone to get fuel, and he does not want to repay that or the hotel. And I made $375 this week. Hotel= 50, mechanic=80, 80+50=130. 375-130=$245.What the hell should I do? Yes, I am VERY pissed at this little sob. I can't even say what I would like to do to him.Last edited: Jul 25, 2009

With our great new president, I can sit on my ### all day and collect umemployment. Why should I even bother working, when I can make as much doing nothing?

Well I don't think we have any of your namesake down here.

Well this POS won't pay for the hotel, it is not in their budget. Nor will they pay for my breakdown, it was my fault, according to them. I am thinking I am ready to go. I am thinking OOS and abandonment. They are too small for DAC, and there is no proof I ever worked there. I doubt the two months I worked there really counts for anything.

What will guarantee that I will be OOS if I pull myself into a weigh station to be inspected?
