What's the advantage of nitro vs air?
If I'm understanding this correctly. Some states reduce capacity on quads? So a 3+1 allows you that capacity back?

Not all states recognize a quad.

it works on the same principle as a spread axle trailer. The idea is you spread the axles to a minimum distance and the state will recognize it as a separate axle group.

So the last axle would be treated as a single axle group and allowed whatever that particular state gives on single axles - could be 20k 23k or even 25k in some states

the upside is the booster will corner better (less tire scrub and off track) than a quad. The down side is it increases overall length prompting the need for a pilot car in some states. It also makes backing up much more interesting. A. nitro stinger can raise itself off the ground for backing situations.

Only issue with new is adding that 19% on top of that. Now your creeping on 80k. If I get it through my company, they want to stay shorter on term 30-36 months.
Lol that's why the Etnyre kinda peaked my curiosity, because I figured it's about a 30k trailer and 12-15k stinger maybe I could get it around 40-42k out the door. Like you said might take a while to find the right one at the right price.
What do you guys think about auction buys?
Saw a restored 2008(?) TK110 just went at richie bros for 35k.

Well that's useful.. lol yea I wondered about the length and extra weight, I'm honestly not looking to run at max capacity all the time. Just dont wanna buy a trailer too small, would like room to grow.
As far as the other post. I would most likely stay in the south. East of Colorado, and most certainly never into NY or NJ( so that rules out upper NE).
I'm still learning pilot cars, and weight vs size. My biggest restriction right now is the aluminum stepdeck. Too high for RGN stuff, too heavy for 5 axles, and not sturdy enough for tracked equipment.
I dont ever quote prices until I check routing and restrictions. And I dont need go to guys, that's why I have you guys! LOL. I was the guy in Boot Camp that got made fun of because I was always asking questions.

I've always wonder what these stingers are you guys refer to. I've always known them refered to as boosters.

same thing - I tend to think of 2 or more axles as boosters but they are really the same thing. It is much harder to explain east coast vs west coast.

Seems like its generational, or regional differences. That's what confused me was hearing stinger, booster, and spreader. Lol

How about you're driving in the middle of nowhere, loaded and heavy, and you have railroad crossing with a big hump (looks like east coast states enjoy raising the railroad crossings) and no way to turn around this is the difference between mechanical and hydraulic.

Don't forget with east coast style stinger you are not going to be legal in California.

You can buy a trailer at the auction, but don't expect to start running with it as soon as you got it. If its older than 10 years replace wiring, airlines, check brakes, s cams, bushings, bearings, seals, airbags, if hydraulicly operated than probably rebuild cylinders. It shouldn't take longer more than a month :) and probably $6000 if you will do it yourself :)

Yes I wasn’t thinking about FET and sales tax. It’s probably worth it any honestly prices are a little out of my wheelhouse. As far as auction buys just look close at it.
