People log off duty whenever they can to save their 70. When I run OTR I try to keep my driving/on duty limited to under 10 hours a day. This means I never run out of hours and don't have to do a reset.
Your perspective of not running yourself "ragged" isn't going to fly with many trucking companies. I am almost never running "ragged" and neither are any of the experienced guys I know. We know how to manage our time and plan our days. What you will be expected to do is be moving the truck, if the wheels aren't turning then it isn't making money.
If you want to run when you want and how you want then buy a truck and lease on to a company. Most larger companies wont care how much or how little you run since they are self insured.Mototom and FlaSwampRat Thank this. -
Where are you located? Might look at Roehl or someone with a similar home program.FlaSwampRat Thanks this. -

If you don't log this way, you'll be out of hours so much, the paychecks will be disappointing at best.Mototom and FlaSwampRat Thank this. -
