after orientation w/swift

I got my Hazmat a month ago anticipating that. Glad I did. A friend of mine who was suppose to join me backed out a week ago. Bummer..I met him going to NETTTS and would have been a good team member.

I have noticed most companies want you to have it...the background check is done etc.

 

Which NETTTS did you go to? I went in Pawtucket. Did you mentuion that they let you go back for a practice drive before so you could take your road test?

I got my HAZMAT endorsement the day I chabged my license over?

Recruiter told me they are looking for HAZMAT teams. They have to live within 50 miles of each other.

Endorsement Bill....I haven't got a tanker endorsement. Big hassle unless you got a company to help you. North Andover, Mass NETTTS. I went back a couple of weeks ago to get time in a truck. Got my CDL last Dec. and wanted to get some time before heading out to NY. The fingerprinting was 75$ through the registry (NH) took a week then I went back to take the written.

As far as teams I am not sure; but I do know you are more likely to get a job with HAZ

 

I have HZMAT, tank, doubles. The tank was just a written test in Mass. I had to get fingerprinted by a company the TSA uses. Took 2 weeks to get fingerprints back. Cost 87.50. Then took hazmat test at RMV when I converted my license. got all endorsements then. Before I go to orientation I will go back to NETTTS, in Pawtucket, RI, to get some windsahield time. maybe even go over the registry course to freshen up.


No cancellations sop looks like I get to go next month. Tamela told me she had a slot for me but then it was taken away from her. I guess all jobs have politics involved.

 

They just changed the laws in NH..used to be able to just road trip the
tanker. Now the want pre-trip, manuevers also...PHHT!
Hope you get a slot...hmm we will have to stay in touch if your thinking of teamin? My partner backed out.

 

Have you read any posts by Texas-NaNa. She teams with her husband and it seems they get some miles. I don't know how pay for teams work.

Tamela, recruiter, told me that to be a team you have to be within 50 miles of each other. Guess that has to do with home time.

She told me that if you have a team member she will send you to orientation together and after the six weeks training you get set up as a team.

I am about 4-5 miles south of worcester just off route 146.

Do you know how pay works for teams?

Most definitely get more miles. Something to think about Bill.
