particularly the early “L”models(up to ‘95), were there different style hoods for these flat glass trucks? Some look a tad shorter and some appear more sloped?

According to Jones Hood, their W900L hood is for flat cowl flat glass, regardless of year.

Far as I recall there's always been two hoods for the W900, the long hood and the shorter or standard hood.
The L in W900L means long hood, necessary to accommodate the bigger engines of the era, KT Cummins, 1693TA Cat, 12V71 DD, maybe even Big Al, can't say.tommygun58 Thanks this. -
I think op might have thought there were 2 lengths of long hood between 1990-1995.mile marker 27 Thanks this.

The 1693 and 12v71 were never a factory option for a W900L. The W900L has only been around since the early 90s.
You might be thinking of a W900A Extended hood. -
For some reason I want to say the long hood B cab debuted with the 007 edition. Something in its marketing literature kind of aludes to it.Bean Jr. Thanks this.

I think the early 90s had more of a narrow slopes look, compared to later 90s. Could just be the grill design, but as I recall, 92, 93, looked different than 94 +.
tommygun58 and Snake Farmer Thank this. -
A long hood B? Are you sure you're not referring to a w900L flatglass?
The B was from around 82ish to current. I guess I cant recall an actual extended hood B unless it was a one off or very rare. You got a picture or any literature @AModelCat ?
ThanksAModelCat Thanks this. -
Yes the hoods were slightly different between the flat glass and the aero cab models for sure. Aero cabs came around in the mid 90s
