Delivered a load of bulk cotton seed to a farm in WI. Had to pull into a cleared area in a HUGE pile of manure to maneuver around so I could back up to the concrete slab next to the barn.
My weirdest cargo was back in my LTL days. Delivered a pig's head to a medical research facility in AR.
Weirdest place to deliver?

When I was a kid, my Dad delivered fossilized dinosaur eggs on his flatbed. Always thought that was pretty cool.

Amen! After doing the same thing, I've never eaten a hot dog again! -

Weirdest place I went was the prison in Mountain City, TN. They have a motion detector that can detect a heartbeat on a loaded trailer. The catch is sometimes the wind sets it off. I sat there for over an hour waiting on the wind to die down so I could get clear to leave. It's a real tight dock too. Tight as crap with a 53 and a daycab. I did it with a 48 and a 379 with a coffin sleeper. Somebody wasn't thinking when they put a light pole 70 feet directly in front of the dock. The Challenger Thanks this. -
Nastiest load I have ever seen. Left over chicken parts probably going to a dog food plant coming out of Koch Food in Morristown. Driver lost it on a curve on a shortcut back road. Overturned and busted the trailer open. Threw chicken parts across the house in the curve. Blood covered yard and entrails all down the siding.

I had a real funny moment one day when doing this, actually. I was out on the tarmac as usual, but had to pass through some extra security/clearances which was real unusual. Turns out George Bush (TX governor at the time) was landing at the airport from some trip somewhere. There were news crews waiting for him to land, a limo for him on the tarmac, but no one else (guess there's easier security in cargo than the main passenger area). Anyways, I see the plane land, they pull up the big ladder to the plane, and he walks out on to the top of the ladder platform and starts waving all around...waving to the right, waving to the left, back to the right, smiling the whole time while the news crews took their film. I was thinking "who in Hades is he waving to??" Guess he was trying to look popular for the news or something. Kinda eerie, really.
Strangest load while doing hot shots: took a pair of eyes from a local hospital to a hospital in another town (organ donation/transplant). Had to put them in the front seat with me and keep the A/C blasting, even though they were packed in ice and styrofoam...they didn't want to take any chances. A real creepy 2 hour drive with some pair of eyes in the seat next to me.Beardefreak and The Challenger Thank this. -
...an no roll of money under them...
