How you can do pretrip inspection and be OFF duty? From Adam&Eve time it was ON duty, plus some ON duty time after you park for finishing your paper logbook.

My birthday happened last weekend... I never told anybody cause I don't like to celebrate my birthdays... :biggrin_25512:
But a cousin of mine that I have never met before and his wife called me and came to Cabo Frio to meet me... :)
They often come to this city to enjoy the beaches.. they love to travel....
So we met for the first time... it was such a joyful day!!! Beautiful... we went to the beach... He had beer, his wife and I had coco nut water...

Then, we had lunch at their hotel... that was my plate... :p

Then, we went visiting my uncle and cousins about 30 mins away...
And on the way back to Cabo Frio we stopped at a pub... he had more beer and we had some white cheese on a stick with honey and oregano.... very interesting mixture.... tasted good too... :D

It was a wonderful day and they only found out that was my birthday the day later when someone told them...

I explain.. before, we could do pretrip but didn't have to fill out all the forms they have now and didn't have to be on duty... now the forms will not be available unless one is on duty... All I am saying is that now we have more to do for the same money and that will consume more from our 70... For me that's a bunch of nonsense... And I don't like that at all.... :angry1:

The J or the Pilot? There are two seperate and specific horrors.

Tell me you are at the J and not that Pilot off I think 4B I-465.

The last time I was there I had a number of teenager minors on my fuel tank. Worst part at that was shoo, scram, beat it, Gwan, get outta heah, Beat it, what part of get lost don't you understand. That made them laugh on the ground.

I was calling the Law at that point. Get rid of one eyeball two jumping across your trailer as cover to get to the next customer. To this day I can still feel that pitter patter through the #### airride.

And they talked about how Trucking is going to be a great Career they said, How trucking is going to be rewarding they said. How trucking can potentially get you into a world of hurt trying to "Splain your way out of a bad situation using truth. If wife was not with me she would have had filed divorce that week.

What a waste of youth and I should aim double barrel at the older ones for robbing the cradle.

I told dispatch Indy is the one place you will not get me near. I don't care if its a unicorn pot of gold load in downtown, I aint going. You send someone else. With the way inflation has been its a size of a US Medium metric sauce pan and two larger bullion coin these days. Not the two ton pot yea high that the children's tales tell about.

.. Moving to a more serious situation more or less.

US 15 from Horseheads NY (Elmira NY) all the way down into central NC along that one road facing North and South has a organized ice system forming within about 30 hours from now and a few hours after that anyone in that zone gets to decide if they wish to sit and shiver this far north or they get to have a load to Florida where sunshine and beautiful weather beckons them.

The Police Shows on local TV is becoming more creative. One Dindu (Ididnotdo) swore on a stack of notarized and sham bibles taller than we are that there is no Cocaine on the face about the nostril area, he was busy using words creatively for 5 minutes being a absolute angelic innocent that he would not be caught dead with that stuff on him nosuh, not me, I don't do that stuff, you see nothing on my face etc etc etc.

What does the police man do? Grab a test kit already pre-wet and ready to go; Scrapes the Dindu's Nose and cheek **MAWAH!!!** oh so gently and carefully. It instantly turned a violet blue while Mr Clicks went on. (All he had to do was Shut up about anything. But no, he certified in the broad light the moon that there is not a #### thing wrong anywhere that we can see.

Sorry it does not work that way when you have that special blue dye on you now.

The company is requiring them to log as the regulations are written?

Most have not have had a computer doing enforcement before but the regs were mostly there.

The regs are not put in place for driver comfort, convenience, or financial benefit.

One form of pretending to be employed turned into certification that you are in fact employed and have the hours to touch that form for the task of pretripping.

    Nice.

Get a load of this Ma'am, wait until you find out that the impatient US Dispatcher calling my cell late at night deep into the sweet dreams of a nice 10 hour sleeper time beddy bye bye popped all that paradise for work related calling that he cannot be bothered to wait 4 hours or better yet, let the day shift worry about that.

Once I self certify that there is time left in my 70 hour work week to legally take the mail, phone call or whatever else... Can you imagine a company grinding to a halt on fresh paper designed to make sure that it will continue to function as intended within the law and not be so buried in excessive paperwork to the point at not running out of hours which will probably happen when the Law shows up to verify that yes indeed the time does exist and is being consumed at a horrible rate as I write this. He he.

Probably your company uses some crazy inspection forms. I have seen it on mining equipment to comply with OSHA requirements. On my ELD it's simple two clicks. First click is NEW INSPECTION the second click is CERTIFY if everything is OK.
But anyway you have to be ON duty before the inspection Certify time. Some Iowa DOT very picky about this and will ask you how did you do inspection in three minutes. On the end of conversation they like to write you a ticket for log falsifying and put 10 hours off.
