Here’s an interesting solution to putting a long piece on top...when I hauled some structural last month, this was on my boss’s load. I thought it might be somewhat overkill...but impressive CD6D9EE6-D187-4355-A747-75DFDBD9178F.jpeg

Well other then a 16’ wide box all I’ve been hauling lately are crates. Real super exciting stuff but it is really nice in Florida time of year. It’s nice to change it up every once and a while.

Did 2 runs of C-spans today. (laying on their side)

50,000lbs. Makes the rig about 87,000lbs (they told me to take this trailer, i took this trailer, dunno why, it's heavy and is 3 axles. everyone else was using a regular flatbed). Doesn't look so bad right. now let's look at the other side.
    20191216_143738_resized.jpg

sticks off the edge about 2 feet.

and i already know your question, cuz i had the same one.

And the reason it sits over some on the deck is that all the weight is on the top (the long side) so if you put it all the way to the side, the trailer sits funny and all the weight is not even on the trailer.

Just FYI. Review the rules on loads that are more than 3 tiers high and 6ft off the deck. Not trying to be a buster. Six back quiet.

Please enlighten us, my load securement handbook is probably 15 years old and I haven't looked at it in a few years either...
    Is there something I'm overlooking?
