No wonder I didn’t see it. Not in the group.

Thank you JB for finding out.
I'm going to have a word with CN about our DM and let him know that he needs to find out from where his getting his information.
Maybe his looking into a Cristal Ball.

    Bumper and JohnBoy Thank this.

Sounds more like he’s using his magic 8 ball.

Certainly news here as well... I have always had a good experience with Volvo Breakdown... but that won’t change... right? Right??

so is there a new number to use to call for help or same number just now it’s redirected to Phoenix?

    Silverdriver Thanks this.

But wasn’t the original question not about how much and when but about it rolling over?

If the policy had changed, Rachel would've mentioned something about it in her reply to John because John wouldn't be the only person asking her and she'd know what he was really trying to find out.

Realistically, one of two situations is true:

    1) Abilene's vacation policy is unchanged.

    2) Abilene is changing their vacation policy so that vacation from the previous calendar year does not roll over to the new calendar year -- which means that vacation renews at the beginning of the year as well, and I'm about to get 2 weeks of vacation on Jan 1st after already using a week's vacation for Christmas. Which means I'll get 3 weeks of vacation in the year between my last hire date anniversary and my next one. Which is pretty okay with me.

The chances of the policy being "You don't get a fresh set of vacation hours until your hire date anniversary, but you only have until the end of the calendar year to use up all of it, even if you were hired on December 30th" is, to my mind, really really slim.

Your first response is correct. It’s unchanged.

She confirmed that it’s still based on hire date... and not calendar year... not that you can or can’t roll it over after the “year” (not calendar year) that it’s available.

but ya, probably just a newbie mistake or assuming it’s the same as where they came from.

either way, I guess I need to check into using my “one whole week” of vacation now that I’ve been back for over a year.

Nothing rolls over. It’s based on your hire date. My hire date is April 13th. I used my left over week prior to that. This past April when Lesli and I went to Italy for 3 weeks, we left on the 6th using up last years week I had left over, then on the 13th I picked up my new 2 weeks and used them for a total of 3 paid weeks. If you don’t put in for them, you will loose them.
