Thanks rcelmo!! I'm planning on putting her on the road January 1st. She has been stretched correctly 48". I don't know what the total wheel base is, I need to measure it. Anyway, I'm sure she'll ride good loaded.

Just a side note. Freightliner supplied that rear suspension to White, Western Star, Diamond Reo, A-car. It is possible for an A-car to have had it. Believe it or not
Freightliner also supplied the first generation of Air ride to Peterbilt

I envy you. My personal life/finances is a disaster......but, if I ever can I want
to do exactly what you are doing.

My first OTR truck was a Freightliner Classic. 3406 CAT, 13 spd, 150 gallons
on each side, 411 gears, truck was slow but I seldom had to downshift. I would
sure like to find one like that, clean it up, drive a REAL truck again. Truck had over
1.3million miles on it when I drove it.....to my knowledge never on a tow truck.
Todays' plastic junk won't last half that long.

Surprising how clean/rust free those frame rails are.

It became Airliner after Pete came out with their Air Trac and didnt need it from freightliner anymore. It is basically Neway now.

Nothing wrong with that. That is the last of the
Freightliners. Classic style cab. Curved dash with real switches and controls. Great power.
Dont worry about the cheap plastic stuff in the interior. They were putting that stuff in them as far back as 1973.

    Rideandrepair Thanks this.

The dashboard we're bad to crack at mounting points. I've got a replacement for mine when I get to it.

    Rideandrepair and SmallPackage Thank this.
