Old Manual steering trucks, hand to hand, becomes the norm. I wonder what he’d say about my backwards hand over under hand habit. ( patented )
Hand to hand or Hand over Hand steering??

magoo68, Manisasan, BigHossVolvo and 1 other person Thank this. -
Hand to hand, that’s why all the old Freighthaulers city drivers chests were as wide as the big steering wheel, ( little skinny legs), and an old stogie!! Lol

Aint a wheel that aint been turned fast or slow as needed. Sometime spinners too.
The only thing I recall from the old iron days was to have nothing in the spokes, you are liable to lose it without that power steering.
I do hand over but hand to hand doesnt work, take all day unless you are trying for that little inch of dock plate. Sometimes one palm. and sometimes in certain older trucks engineered to accept it you can let go from lock and she will fall to center on her own.
Anyone uptight about steering methods need to have a hobby or something to enrich their life.D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -

I'm still laughing over this, I mean, "driver shortage" right? The guy nails the pre-trip, the driving, the backing, and you're ####in worried about hand to hand? Like #### really?
So the next guy that does hand over hand and wipes out 3 trailers in the yard is good to go right? ROFLOdin's Rabid Dog, x1Heavy and Manisasan Thank this. -
I'm supposed to use both hand?
