Like you said, it appears that they don't want this to go to trial as it would likely set a precedent, thus opening the door for other "like suits."

They can request the court dismiss the case, arguing you got everything you asked for, but the court doesn't have too. Take NYC for example, they had a draconian anti 2A law that was challenged and is currently in front of the SCOTUS. Prior to, they quickly "amended" the law and then asked SCOTUS to dismiss, as they claimed the plaintiffs got everything they asked for; however, SCOTUS refused and is now considering the case. They tried this too in D.C. awhile back also, same thing, settled before.

 

I hope the mods will reread this thread with an eye towards decency and use it as a learning tool. This Bad Company forum has a lot of attacks of posters without proof. We all can read between the lines on many posts. but not all threads are invalid. I believe this thread almost was stopped at the beginning and that would have been a shame. Perhaps, in the future, we'll tell people who lease how to fight back, instead of belittling them.
Almost all threads in this subforum are started by people in crisis, often, it's the worst day of their life. Happy holidays to all.

 

So if someone wants to end a thread, attempt to start an argument? Thinking this through, we wouldn't have found out about Mercer, and the OP would be the villain? I don't know what happened in the other thread, but this one was possibly the most important thread on any of these forums, imho.

 

So there's no personal accountability? If a few people start a flame war, the thread dies,versus, disciplining the flamers? Just want to understand the rules.
