I once hit an orange barrel that was sticking out too far into the lane. It was the barrel or a cement wall. I chose the barrel. Another time I ran over a recap that was lying in the road. It ripped out the airlines under the trailer. Company ruled it a nonpreventable accident.

I think every driver out here has hit road debris at some point. It's part of the job. Sometimes being a good driver means choosing the lesser of two evils.

I deliver RV's. If we hit road debri, or something falls or truck spins a gator, it is considered driver damage and comes out of our pocket. That was the policy at the last company I was leased to. They tried it with me once and it fell through.
