I've read that Pittsburgh Power built a 600hp Series 60, but didn't see if it was a III or IV or what, I do believe it was a 12.7 not a 14L. I did email them, meanwhile asking the forum.
Which 12.7 Series 60 version is best?

I don't know about the 600. We used 12.7 515's which were quite good for what they were in 2001 era. Just feed it a few alternators now and then.
CVMA Thanks this. -
Thy can get up to 800 out of a 12.7, The problem is if you don't have the rite driver he's going to do some damage. Not sue about there being a best version because everyone has there favorite. Are you looking to have one built?
Chubby Fly Thanks this. -
The 575/1850 pre EGR 14L HKs. All the fuel mileage and reliability of a 12.7L DDEC 4 but with 10% more displacement...just not a 12.7
CVMA, Hulld and spsauerland Thank this. -
The DDEC 4 BKs are probably the best 12.7s. They're premium blocks and with the 16.5:1 compression they got better fuel mileage and performed better in the cold than the PKs
CVMA, BoxCarKidd and spsauerland Thank this. -
If I had a truck to put that in I would be on it in a second.spsauerland, Roberts450 and swaan Thank this. -

What is the difference in a bk and pk?

starmac and spsauerland Thank this.

Then either could be built to be the other, I assume?
