Good idea; Craigslist is good. One driver posted on here he found a good job there and he had 12 tickets/fender benders in his taxi. Went to cdl school and found a good job within a few days on Craigslist.

This was my point in my comment. Sometimes drivers get it in their heads they can walk away from a dispute just by saying it aint my fault. When a truck or trailer is damaged OR causes damage that comment comes into play! It still was you behind the wheel. Do this enough and your options shrink!

I really hate to do this, BUT I have my safety hat on here. I also think @brian991219 will back me up. IF you are going into a commercially active parking lot I would imagine a "commercial" vehicle would have yanked that cable down long before you did. ARE YOU SURE you did not get lost in the dark, forget where you were and looking for a place to regroup? This is common for greenhorns to do. Look at what I just stated. This is a serious catch 22 for you. If that area is active there will BE NO low hanging cable. To say you were in the correct place where I am assuming other trucks routinely go then yank down a cable is at best a non sequitur! Sorry, I have been in this industry way too long to buy that one!

Like I said, I own what I know for a fact is my fault, but how the hell do you avoid something you can't see?

Things I know about that night. It was

1: Night time and darker than pitch.
2: There were no adequate lighting sources and/or signage indicating the cable's presence.
3: The manager of the store I was delivering to had stated that a previous truck had knocked down a cable there prior to my own mistake. There was nothing on my qualcomm or paperwork indicating that it was a hazard.
4: The manager of that store indicated that the building owners had a pending order for a sign to be erected, one that was not yet up.
5: The State Trooper that I requested to come by (by urging of Safety) did not ticket me for it.

Was I behind the wheel? Yes, most assuredly. Was it preventable? I don't think so as every single item other than direct sunlight, that might have warned me of the presence of that cable had failed.

Do you have less than 4 accidents in 36 the last months?*
Do you have no more than 4 violations in the last 36 months?*

I am starting to understand why you were fired. A driver MUST get OUT and check the area where they are about to go. You can't use the I could not see excuse. When I was a driver I had a million spotlight just for that purpose. Learn this for the future, ALWAYS I MEAN ALWAYS clear where you are about to either back or pull into. I hate to be so direct. I kind of wish I could be more of a mentor for you. You are learning some hard lessons here. You will find another job I am sure. Hopefully, you have learned a VERY important thing about operating in the dark.

I have two accidents on my MVR, One was an actual accident, and the other was an accusation against me that had no proof that I ever hit anyone with my personal vehicle.

So basically I used to live in a duplex apartment, one morning early December I am told the transformer box belonging to the power company is knocked out. I get home and a local cop basically tells me that my neighbor says they witnessed me backing out, side swipe their car and hit the transformer box.

Thing is during arbitration I was found to have 0% liability/involvement. There was no corresponding damage on my vehicle, the witness changed their story during arbitration to say they heard a noise and assumed I was the party at fault rather than actually having visually witnessed it, and the cherry on top the police report was incredibly one sided, only having a statement from the "witness".

If you only called, then submit the online application. No one will know you called earlier.
