I run this model of 60" half Hogue's. Second-year and have thrown iron four times with only a small scratch from a bungee letting go. I do drive slow, check my chain often and keep fresh bungee's. If you lose a chain it will destroy any fender quarter, half or full. I put these half's on because a coming off cabbage two years ago lost a chain and destroyed the stock one

I suppose there's a reason I've never seen a set of fancy full fenders in Alaska. Only plastic ones on gravel haulers, and they park for the winter. I have plastic half fenders on my trucks, but I set them far enough forward to allow ease of chaining.

Lots of fancy half fenders in Alaska, but most come off for the winter. lol
I had a trooper tell me that they were going to start writing us tickets if we did not have full fenders while bobtailing. I told him good luck with that program. lol

I rather see the pickups with big tires hanging halfway out stop sooner than bobtails with no fenders.

Yeah I'd be pretty pi*sed if I threw a chain and destroyed one of those expensive Hoguebilt deals. Would probably avoid having to do it in the first place. I have a pair of 2 railers I throw on the outside of my 2wd F-350 cab and chassis dually when needed and the full fenders I have on it make it a little trickier getting them hooked. They don't sit quite that tight as in those do in the picture though. That would worry me.

Every truck I’ve driven except one has had half fenders of some sort on it. Three railers on the back axle and go.

We'll carry chains to be legal, but wouldn't ever put them on. We run these full fenders on everything to protect the equipment we haul.

That's the way to do it. I never did understand the appeal of those close mounted full fenders.

Now that I’m in the “don’t carry chains anymore” group I’ve thought about them. Even with half fenders plus the fenders on the trailer I still get rock dents in my bunk. But I couldn’t imagine trying to throw chains with them on. I don’t want to be outside that long. Lol.

Which axle typically gets power with the divider off on a twin screw? Or does it depend on which axle/suspension brand it is?
