My options are looking pretty limited in finding work in this field, does anyone happen to have a copy of the year long contract that WE has its drivers sign? I'm pretty sketched out by the insistence of a contract and they say they don't have a copy that they can send out so I can review it before agreeing to being shipped over for orientation.

I get it's a second chance company and one where you should keep your head down and not complain but if anyone has the information it might help aid in my decision on whether or not I should throw my lot in with them or keep looking.

i guess you a re going thru their CDL training..??

from my understanding, is that if you need a CDL, they train you, and you "owe" them at least one year of work, to pay off that training. again, from my understanding, if you leave BEFORE the full year is up, you have to pay the entire cost of the training.

they can mess with your credit if you do not pay, as this is what i recall hearing about company paid training.

and i do believe "some" other companies may not hire you, if you do not complete that full year.

No, I actually have my Class A CDL already, right now I'm in a bad place after running with Werner.

What kind of violations, tickets, and accidents are currently on your record?

PSP is clean, No tickets, just an accident, and an alleged accident I'm trying to get the local PD to expunge and amend their statement on, and then three non-DOT reportable incidences running on Werner's Dollar General account.

I'm not a reckless or unsafe driver, I had a string of bad luck running that ####ty account.

    austinmike and rachi Thank this.

then if you already HAD your CDL when you went to work for them, i must admit, i was not aware they wanted a one year commitment to work there.

never really heard of that crap before.

    seems odd....

The recruiter says they want me to sign a contract and have two weeks minimum training since I have three non-DOT reportable preventables on my DAC report courtesy of Werner.

Saying that they are willing to "work with me" on that, and it's only because no other companies seem to be interested due to the DAC report that I'm having any consideration for it.

If your psp is clean, then try and find a smaller company that will hire you.

Chinatown was kind enough to shoot a bunch of companies at me, I'm still waiting to hear back from a lot of them. Other's I've already spoken with.
