I'm going to try to get into school to get my CDL and training here in hopefully a month or so. I live in the midwest. I'm verrrry interested in getting on with Gordon, so I would like to ask a couple of questions from current employees. First off, I received a speeding ticket in early March of this year for travelling 91 in a 65 zone. I wasn't charged with reckless driving, only speeding. Will Gordon accept me on as a driver (in your opinion)? That is the only ticket I have on my record. Very stable work history, no license suspensions, no DUI's, no felonies or the like, and never been in an accident/wreck. Will they pre-hire before you even go apply to the school? What should I tell or as the recruiters when I speak to them? When will they begin administering the tuition assistance for schooling, and will they help you pay for it from the beginning? Do they have GPS satellite tracking on their trucks (to enable them to watch where your truck is)? What are their idling policies, and do the trucks have APU's installed? Do they allow you to choose which model of truck you want and what would be the likelyhood of getting a Freightliner Classic? And do they allow you to use the truck for personal use (such as, if you have a couple of days off and bobtail for a short ride around town)? Thanks so much for your input!![]()

You have two strikes against you, your age and a BIG speeding ticket. You couldn't just get one doing 8 or 10 over? You had to go for the gusto and get one doing 26 over.

Anyone else..?

I dont see really any company hiring you. You're gonna need to give that speeding ticket time to go away and and in waiting for that, you'll get older which will help also. I wouldn't try for Gordon or any big trucking company anyway. They are ALL liars. NOTHING changes but the color of the hood. Take it from someone that's been there.... Oh yeah, good luck finding ANY employer willing to let you joy ride around in their $50-$100 thousand dollar piece of EQUIPMENT on your days off.
