Howdy all! This is my first post and my first big truck. I am the son of a truck driver so I've had my fair share of experiences but never owned one myself. I am not a driver nor am I planning on becoming one, I am very happy in my current career. But I have always wanted an older COE project.
I found this 1976 local to me. It has a 290 and a ten speed. It needs a lot of work but I will be able to drive it home. Well not me, but a friend who drives! It currently has a dozer style dovetail equipment flat bed on it that will be sold once its home. My intentions for this truck are simple, have a classic old truck to tool around on the weekends and maybe pick up a load of hay every now and again. I recently posted my new purchase on a cabover group on Facebook and someone shared this photo with me. He says his buddy drove the truck, or at least one like it, 25 or so years ago hauling hay in the same state I bought the truck. I bring it home this sunday and will share alot more photos if its wanted.

I'm doing a 1980 W9 right now as well. Funny story: another member on here came across my thread and it turns out it was the very first truck he owned! He was quite shocked and estatic that his old ride was getting restored.
Keep us posted on your progress! We see many threads on restorations but sadly not many get finished.Gearjammin' Penguin, autopaint, Coffey and 5 others Thank this. -

I started out with a 1973 model in 1987. No p/s or a/c, but it was my passion. Mine had a 335 / 9 spd / with 10:00-20 bias ply on Dayton wheels....
They can be made into some fine looking rides, congratulations and have fun!! -
Here’s one You Guys might like, 1972, currently on Detroit Craigslist for 7k. I wish I had the time

Very nice! I'd like to resurrect an old COE also......just need three things I don't have: time, money, and a place to do it.
Cabinover101 Thanks this.
