You need to be aware tho. They are cute tractors and you can get them fairly cheap. Yet they have one horrible design flaw. You must put a over run clutch on the PTO. A over run clutch looks like a 6 spline pto extender, yet in reality it is a one way drive shaft. The headache of a design flaw is that the tractors PTO is directly connected to the rear axle gears. If you have a rough cut mower that can store kinnetic energy ike a flywheel. An operator with oot the clutch could hurt them selves badly when they declutch. As the flywheel is still engaged to the rear axle and willpropell the tractor forward into a wall or worse into traffic. I did it once yet had the forethought to turn the PTO off (lever on side of the tractor). If your willing to deal with that, yes they are great as long as you dont put a front end loader on it. Front end loaders tend to break the axle and the support carrier (the part that holds the front axle to the tractor)

In cold weather do you have to build a fire underneath them? Like they did for tanks in ww2 to get them to start?

    Funny you mention that.

I was recently thinking about gasoline blow torches lately, and in manner of speaking you do have to build a fire underneath those to get them to light. You have to preheat the burner head.

6 volt is always hard cranking. Put a alternator on it and 12 volt battery and starting / charging issues are a thing of the past

I still miss driving the big truck... and feel bored here, waiting to close deals and resume doing what I need to do... but when I read about these never ending snow storms, bellow freezing temps and tons of accidents, I don"t feel so bad for being here and not there... And I pray for you folks, all drivers out there to stay safe....

a few of my friends pull motorcycle specific tent trailers. kinda cool, but not for me. I prefer hotels nowadays, but have done plenty of tenting while touring. getting too old to sleep on the ground. when I was a younger man I could sleep anywhere, my dad used to laugh and say I could sleep standing up.
