I stripped one last time I did an overhead. I will have to fix it sometime as I see its leaking. I think I'm torquing them too much.

What are the specs on them and what helicoil kit do you have or where do you get them?

13 ft lb. +or-2 ft lb. I just use a stubby ratchet 3/8 drive and just snug them down. I hate when I see a wrench turner using a impact on those. 5/16 helic coil 21/64 drill bit. Only drill down as deep as the helic coil is. Tap hole spin in coil til stops. Then take a skinny punch and break off tab of coil. Fish out with magnet. I have magnatized screwdrivers. You can stack coils if you want to drill to bottom of hole but those bolts don't need to tighten up all that much.

Oh and I tape the bit to be able to see how deep to drill.
Edit, got the kit from napa. @SAR

@AModelCat i don't have a torque wrench, plus there's no room for that. I just want the numbers of degrees of turn necessary to finalize the torquing of the bolt. I just want the values, numbers, and info. LMAO!

How long you think that guys engine is gonna last in that thread? In about a week he'll start a thread "my engine blew up, I need help with rebuild!" LOL
