That Detroit main cap bolt torque thread. SMH

 

Me neither. I understand what he's asking. What I don't think he understands is there isn't going to be a formula out there that will magically allow one to calculate a torque and turn number from a set torque value. Just too many variables. 120 degree turn on coarse thread will be a significantly higher torque than fine or ultra-fine thread. For him to actually come up with a useful number he'd have to do what spsaurland just suggested in his last post. The amount of screwing around involved plus the fact he'd need the big torque wrench anyways it'd just be easier to torque them how Detroit says to and not worry about it.

My shop partner for the next few days. The kids went on vacation. The Bassett hound is in the house...for now.

 

IH got it. It's mounted on a John Deere 624J.

 

I could have drove it home for $15K, sometimes I think I need my head checked.....
