Owner Operator refuses to pay for loads i hauled

Or is sick. He might have the same problem the OP has and is not being paid himself.

 

I cosign to the idea of cutting your losses and move on. You can report to whomever handles these types of issues. He got free labor at least for now. If all he hauls are containers he probably got peanuts to haul them and tried to keep all the money. You got all of his info report him to the right people, and then he can answer their questions.

 

With trucking, the first week your employer misses a paycheck it’s time to run. Remember that.

 

Not in Texas in my experience. My experience was getting a judgement. Then wait 6 months to pay. Then sue for payment owed. Unable to collect as the business closed down and opened under a new name, same owner. Sue again, get a judgement. Wait 6 months to receive payment. At that point I gave up....

 

In all the US it's not just something you can do overnight. The laws are actually tilted a bit toward the debtors. This is why I highly recommend that if the money involved is minor to cut your losses. In the end, it's going to cost you more in time and effort and you will be lucky if you get pennies on the dollar. If the money is major then hire an attorney or a collection agency and let them do the work.

 

Why would I make such a comment? Because the guy is probably broke. He is judgement proof. Can't get blood out of a turnip.

I am going to add one more important point here. It is difficult to discern someone's true intent when they communicate when all you can see is font. In-person I can see a short wink etc and know whatever is coming out next will be whimsical. On the internet, it is doubly difficult because you also are limited by other things. @diesel guy454 if you are I was discussing this subject face to face I am sure you would have stated well what if the boss don't have the money? Then I would have gone back to my write it off comment and move on. Please don't take my words in my last post as personal. Sometimes I wish all of us that visit here PLUS the staff could all get in one place and meet each other. I don't take anything personally in here! So as I said, peace!

 

No big deal. I don't take much of anything personal. But I do know a lot of judgements never get collected.
