I'm getting more hours than I want, There's no cutting back on ot. If there's work to get done the next guy in the yard goes back out. No favorites.
If there were favorites they'd be asking to go home early.
I'm getting well over 60 a week, Seems I use a 16 every week. I usually start at 3-4 am.
And there's weekend work also

I doubt they will lay off drivers, heniff and superior carriers are advertising for drivers, so you can’t lay-off and hire at the same timeslim shady, Boom Tube and yankatank Thank this.

I believe they are expecting a major driver exodus and trying to hedge some for spring when it picks up. People don't handle change very well.
One thing I did notice in High Point. They are installing a huge generator at the terminal. The electricians told me it was large enough to power the whole building. That has to be Heniff money. Can't think of a reason to need that unless they are putting in computer servers that need constant power. -
Are there day cab OO at your terminal? I have had the thought of buying cheap daycab and doing local/regional tanker work
-
I even talked to one of the guys working on that this morning and he said that unit outside was the wrong unit ordered. The one ordered is TWICE the size of the one there between the gate and door to drivers lounge!

I don't understand why Heniff would lay off any Superior drivers. Kind of defeats the purpose of buying the company.patsy, slim shady and DEllis Thank this.

Not necessarily. If they have more Heniff drivers than work, then getting Superior's customers will give them that work. If they have a surplus of drivers after things equalize, then they will lay off the workers in the purchased company before the parent company. This exact thing happened to my mom. They consolidated her department and gave everyone the option to move to Dallas where the department was moved to or resign.
I agree with the sentiment that Superior's hiring spree is in anticipation of an exodus. There's a steady stream of new hires coming into my terminal, myself included. Personally, I'm just gonna keep my head down and concentrate on learning all I can while I keep tabs on any changes that may come down the line. -
Well, from what I was told, heniff has top notch accounts. So why would they be in any hurry to get the existing superior accounts, and on top of that, if you are buying a company that is approximately the same size and you get rid of all the drivers of the company you just bought, how are you going to replace those drivers? There must be a lot of drivers waiting in the wings to drive for heniff if that’s the caseslim shady Thanks this.

Exodus to where? Why go be a newbie at most likely a worse place just because of uncertainty

Just out of curiosity, were there any Miller drivers laid off?
