On the ic choice orientation they tell us not to get loads early.

In yall experience is this accurate? Do they really not let you guys arrive to places early. I have a live load on the 4th but will get there on the 2nd

Definitely don't do that!! I've come too close to that threshold once before and it's scary.

What I do is I plan my runs based on how many miles I can reasonably cover in a day on my recap. If you work 8:45 a day you'll never run out of hours, so I figure 8hrs driving, :15 pretrip, :15 fuel if applicable on that day, and :15 posttrip. If I drive 55mph average that gives me 440mi of daily range. Try to stay in that bubble. That way you don't have to take a costly 34hr reset. Sometimes ill take a load that has me drive 500mi in one day like I did today, but I make sure I account for that when planning ahead.

But yes stay within the pickup/delivery windows, especially with Target and Walmart. They'll frown at you if you deliver a few hours before the delivery window opens and call it a service failure.

Also I like to preplan 2 loads OR 2-3 days out, depending on route length. Waiting to search the board for an area on the day of arrival or even the day before arrival often means picking the sour fruit at the top of the tree. Booking early, but not overstacking yourself I find is a good approach.

As many lane changes as it takes to keep people from running into the big orange box that they inexplicably can't see
