And they aren't recommending an overhaul, that's my idea. I mean the turbo goes out in the middle of Iowa, I lose my load, tow, bazillion dollar repair just for a turbo at Tim's Turbo shack Des Moines. Now I'm 3/5th's of the way into the overhaul with a new turbo to show for it.

New fuel pump is less then $5000. Upgrade steel plungers is only $600. Do the math.

Well if I get out of it with just that stuff maybe I keep pushing him. Or get it fixed then sell it and take the other truck.

I really like the other truck. It's a double bunk, newer tri pac, bigger inverter, 350K less miles lol. New dpf too.

The problem is their overhaul program doesn't include what need to be changed first. No turbo, no injectors, no fuel pump. If you got new shoe will it cure diarrhea? Answer is simple NOOOOOOOO. Cummins reman parts famous to fail from the start. I have four friends who got reman turbo from Cummins. All experienced oil slobbering. Cummins stated it's OK . One friend changed 3 turbos under warranty. Then he took turbo to the shop for repair and it stop leaking. Same drama with Cummins reman heads. Where it came from? The other guy like you gave them head with probably 1,5 M miles now you have it painted and cleaned for $20,000.

The forum has 4000 friends that told me it would bankrupt me 3 years, a couple hundred thousand to the good, and 3 more trucks ago too.
