You’ll have to contact them to find out. I bet it’s nowhere near a Cummins warranty.
There is a good rebuilder that sells complete motors. They mostly do Detroit’s. They also install, but I can’t think of the name.

You need to consider the Truck itself, sounds like you have a nice Truck. Spending the money to keep it up, is worth it, The cost, after about 18 mos. will be absorbed. That is the value of the Truck will still be higher, because of the inframe, and you’ve gotten some use from it.Now if it were an old Century, or Other low value Truck, Running Containers, Local, it would be different. Probably best to just trade it out, but in your case, a new inframe, or re Man is more cost efficient, when you consider the whole picture.
ChevyCam, Swine hauler, onetime42 and 2 others Thank this. -
I have another truck sitting here that hasn't turned a mile, almost same spec, same everything but a Detroit, double bunk, newer APU, new DPF, with 350K on it.
So the harsh reality is Casper would probably go to auction even though it's in great shape, apu works great, etc.
You have to be diligent not to throw good money after bad.
You can get a truck in the 300K mile range for in the $40K's right now.ChevyCam, Deere hunter, Swine hauler and 2 others Thank this. -
ChevyCam, Dave_in_AZ and Rideandrepair Thank this.

If your gonna keep it go right thru the motor..... Don’t cheap out. What comes in most in frame kits is about 1/2 of the stuff you need........:-/
ChevyCam, Big_D409, Studebaker Hawk and 3 others Thank this. -
Thing to remember too is that a reman crate engine doesn't always have 100% new parts in it either. If things like the crank, cam, head, timing gears etc are still serviceable, chances are they'll be reused.
onetime42 and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
It all boils down to operating cost. A new Pete, or any Truck is outrageous. You’re Truck will probably never be worth much less than it is now. Nice Petes are always in demand. If you decide to keep it, know that all the other stuff, bushings, motor mounts, air bags, torsion rods, air lines, the list goes on, my Classic is a 2000, I’ve replaced things, never before considered, still not done. You have to factor all of it, and whether or not it’s what you want. I change parts, it’s fairly cheap. But can be a PITA. Always got something on the list. Right now it’s king pins/ front end, and fifth wheel. Whether to upgrade or keep it, hard to say. Everyone’s different. I’d keep it. And know what I’ve got. But I used to try and get out of one before the major repairs. I’ve learned they all need repairs eventually.
ChevyCam, Kw Owners Club, onetime42 and 3 others Thank this. -
I’m in the keep it camp most of the time too.......
